Uncle Pete Drgac was born 1883 in a Czech farming community near Caldwell, Texas.  He grew up, married, and ran a small grocery and bakery in the area.  He was a working man who made his wife's clothes, baked bread, and eventually owned his own grocery store in the nearby town of Rosenburg, Texas.
Uncle Pete and his wife never had children of their own, but he loved them and his nieces and nephews coined his life long nickname of "Uncle Pete".
Uncle Pete's wife passed in 1962 following their retirement and he consoled himself by gardening, church work, and reading.
At the age of 85, Uncle Pete was building and painting flower boxes.  He was disappointed in his renditions of flowers, so he spent his remaining years executing his beautiful floating images study paintings by practicing painting everything around him.
