We met Sam as a youngster in Waxahachie. He kept coming to the gallery until we noticed, he was not missing a show. Soon he was our intern/friend/helper/newest family member to Webb Gallery.
Until 2020 took Sam to Parson’s in NY to start university studies.
It was rolling along well, until the pandemic hit and altered his plans in a positive way in leading him from Fashion to Fine Art..
During his life’s plan adjustment, Sam dove into exploring various artists, their work, and their modes of operation. He also took himself on some cross country adventures and set up a ceramic studio to create a body of journal ceramics.
Sam has now graduated this year and is remaining in New York with his fiancé Natalie who is also deep in study of writing and working in the art field. We couldn’t be happier for Sam. The guy can do anything and is already getting gallery support for exhibits and opportunities.
We love seeing life through Sam’s lenses. It is refreshing and sincere with a bit of humor, sarcasm and exploration.
Sam has always enjoyed cooking and his many of his ceramics honor the vessels of the pie pan or casserole. All of them see to represent the journal of Sam and his world. What a sweet one it is.
