MC 5cent Jones lived in Gillam, Louisiana when we used to visit him in the 1980's and 90's.  His home was a trailer on swampy plantation land just north of Shreveport.  He lived his entire life near there and worked most of his life on the plantation.  He got his nickname of 5cent for he was barely 5 feet tall.  He was the cutest man and had a smile that would shine a car.  When we would visit him, there would always be a trailer full of little kids lined up on the sofa and MC's wife on the telephone.  There was either something frying on the stove next to a pot of greens, or the fragrance lingering in the air from the recently prepared meal.  MC sat in front of the television at his tv tray always drawing and painting something from his life.
