We met Joe and his wife Rosie in the early 1990’s. The above photo is one of the first times we visited their Memphis home. He was so tall, sported a good pompadour and often painted his own portrait leaning to an Elvis look. He was very proud of leaving a stint in prison with a new interest in Judaism. He covered his fence and yard with signs about his religious beliefs and signs directed at his neighborhood. His faith was strong and inspirational.
